NASFM's Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG 101) training available online

OSFM | Aug 05, 2015

On March 31, 2015 the National Association of State Fire Marshals (NASFM) deployed a new program to its training site (http://nasfm-training.org) which complements its Pipeline Emergencies program.  Liquefied Natural Gas or LNG 101 is an Awareness level program for LNG in transportation and at fueling stations.

“As LNG becomes more and more prevalent across the country” stated NAFM President Butch Browning, “NASFM saw the need to keep responders well informed on its unique challenges and provide them information on the best way to work through an incident should it occur.”  Industry experts estimate twenty five percent of all over the road transport vehicles could be LNG powered in the next few years.  As a result, NASFM worked with industry partners and Fire Marshals Offices around the country to complete this invaluable training program, and help keep responders safe.

NASFM itself has a long history of producing quality LNG training materials starting with the release of its Liquefied Natural Gas DVD in 2005.  Please visit http://nasfm-training.org and click on the LNG 101 program to register and take the course, or www.pipelineemergencies.com to see the original LNG training video.

While you are at the http://nasfm-training.org site you can take any one of our other programs including; Understating your Role in Fire Incident Data, Implementing a Residential Sprinkler Program, or any of the Pipeline Emergencies Programs.
